New Year, New Apartment

If you've been following either Janessa or me on Facebook, you'll know that our days in the East-Mesa ghetto known as "ASU Polytechnic Family Housing" have been limited for some time.  Now they're over...No more 45 minute bus rides to school, no more living waayy too far away from everything, no more gagging from East Mesa's fresh-manure.  Yesterday felt like the longest day ever (just ask Janessa about her forearms), but we finally made it into our new apartment!

Our new set-up is really a win-win.  It's closer to Janessa's job, closer, more than 4x closer to the law school, and has super-cool modern conveniences like a microwave, ceiling fans, and a garbage disposal (our old place had none of those things).  While it is quite a bit smaller than our last abode, it's still big enough for us - 2 bedrooms (one of which serves as my study), 1 bathroom, a living room, and a decent-sized kitchen.  Also included - faux-hardwood & real carpet (both of which were missing at our last place).  No pictures yet (still haven't finished unpacking), but we'll put some up next week.

Janessa and I had a great time for New Years.  We spent Christmas at my parents' house in Algonquin, so we didn't get back to AZ until the 29th.  While J and I were in Wisconsin and she was with Epic, she was gone a lot and built up a bunch of Marriott points.  We were able to use a chunk of those points to take a little get-away in Scottsdale for the weekend.  Eating good food, watching football, and being lazy made for a great weekend!

Everything else is going well for us down here.  Janessa's still working, albeit shorter weeks as of late.  Much to her chagrin, I've still got about two weeks until the 2nd semester of law school starts...It'll be sad to go back and not be able to just relax with Janessa all day, but it should be easier this time around.  I've got a better idea of how to do things, so I should be able to be more efficient.

Hope everybody else had a good New Years!
