Carter has never been a good burper; this is my second complaint about my near perfect baby. The first being his lack of sleeping through the night, but that is another post another time...
After eating, Carter likes to cry and whine when I put him up to my shoulder to burp. He also will try to stick his entire fist in his mouth and completely ignore me and my burping attempts. We try sitting on my lap and burping, which worked for a few days until Carter started arching his back and throwing his head back. We try laying across my lap, but he thinks it is some kind of cruel tummy time torture. So this lack of burping sometimes leads to some nasty spit-up situations.
I try to be prepared. I learned to never leave the house without a burp cloth and there is a burp cloth in every room of my apartment. I strive for prevention, and it is like Christmas morning when I get a good burp out of him, but often I just wait for the inevitable.
As much as I hate spit-up/throw-up, whenever Carter gets Brett I find it hilarious.

Oh Janessa, you posts really make me reconsider having a child....haha! At least I've been warned, huh! Keep up the good work Momma!
I am trying to give you realistic expectations. Even though there are gross times, the smiles, the giggles, and the drool well make up for it.
