Last Week of Freedom

This week has been interesting, relaxing, stressful... I have a few comments on Brett's post last week. He mentioned that I had a job offer, which I thought was going to work out great. However, after spending a few more hours there it became very apparent that what I thought about the job was way off. It ended up being a door-to-door sales job with some really horrible hours. After a lot of thought we took the plunge and decided to not take the job. Now I get to continue to look for a job...yeah! :(

Monday morning I realized that school kids had their first day of school. Then I was driving down the freeway and saw a water park that I've been eyeing since we got here and there weren't any lines. I came home, told Brett we needed to go. Turns out Tuesday was the last day the park was open during the week, so it was perfect for us. It wasn't busy at all. The weather was amazing, and we hit up some miniature golf there also. The park was your standard water park, except for one ride. Because of this ride I now know what it would feel like to get flushed down a toilet. In my defense, I had no idea what the ride was before I went on it or I might have been better prepared. First I dropped several stories, fast and then ended up in a big bowl-like structure where I went around and around the sides of the bowl until I had no more momentum. At that point I dropped through a hole in the center of the bowl and fell head first into a pool of water. It may sound fun, but I felt like a drowned rat.

Friday Brett and I went to a Diamondback baseball game with two other couples. I'm ashamed to say it was our first double or triple date ever. We had a great time. The D-Backs beat the Dodgers and there were fireworks after the game. Good times.

Saturday Brett went to a service project sponsored by the law school. He signed up to go to an animal shelter and walk/play with dogs. He said it was really sad how many animals were there and the percentage of animals that would be put down was super high. Brett came home and now has our first dog picked out. He played with a Miniature Schnauzer and absolutely loved it. Someday...

Brett starts law school orientation tomorrow, so keep your fingers crossed for him. Classes start on Thursday! Here's to hoping the next three years fly by!
