This past week has been a week filled with changes for Janessa and me. As noted by the mini-update from Janessa, we arrived in Mesa on Monday of this week. All told, we drove more than 2400 miles on our way from Wisconsin. Still, it was worth all the extra miles as we got to see family in IL, WY, and UT.
Our house (yes, house) here in Mesa isn't exactly what we expected, but it is nice. We were expecting our stuff to get here to Mesa on Tuesday (hence the reason we left Vernal early Monday morning), but we are still "stuff-less." That's because the truck carrying our stuff across the country had some mechanical issues and broke down somewhere along the route. Not to worry though - we planned for this and so had all the "essentials" we could packed away in the car. Combined with the air-mattress we picked up at Wal-Mart, we've been ok and will be able to survive until the truck gets here.
We also have good news to report on the job-front. After several interviews Janessa was offered (and accepted) a position with a Phoenix-based marketing company. We're not exactly sure what she's going to be doing with them, but it looks like a stable job with decent pay. Given the tough economic climate, it goes without saying that we're pretty satisfied...
Other than housing and job updates, everything is going well. We're getting acclimated to our new ward (the toughest thing is that it starts at 8:00 in the morning), figuring out where things are located, and getting used to the heat. Believe it or not, 106 isn't that bad when you have almost no humidity.
Oh, and a final note - my first In 'n Out experience was amazing. And not only because it was our first meal in Mesa...
Now, here are the pictures from the last leg of our trip:
