So last night was Madison's (in)famous Halloween. It isn't as crazy now as it was back in 2003 before I went on my mission, but it's still a good time. Back then around 100,000 people would descend on the city, creating a crazy mass of drunken-debauchery that usually ended in a riot. It got so bad (or so good, depending on your perspective) that Sports Illustrated on Campus rated Madison's Halloween Party as the #45 thing to do before you graduate. It all changed in 2006 when the city started selling tickets to get on State Street (where the party is)...It's still fun, but it's not near as crazy as it used to be.
I know you're not reading this blog for a history of Madison's Halloween, so I'll actually get to what went down last night. Janessa and I wanted to do some sort of fun couple-costume, so we finally settled on the classic dog-cat combo. Here's how we looked:
After getting dressed up we went to the ward Halloween party. There weren't as many people there as we thought there'd be, but it was still a fun time. Janessa had never been to State St. for Halloween before, so we decided to walk down there to see what was going on. Bad move-we should have taken one of the free buses the city provides for drunk people, because it ended up being waay longer of a walk that I thought. It wasn't so bad for me, but Janessa was wearing some really nice boots w/ high heels, so it was tougher on her feet.
All in all it was a good night, but not as crazy as it would have been had it occurred a few years ago. Below are a couple of photos from our pumpkin-carving extravaganza...

I see you have a great Halloween!
Just dropping by,
Eu Ginn
I loved the sporadic patches of hair. Pretty hilarious.
The funniest thing was how much they shed...by the time we finally made it out of the apartment there was a gigantic pile of faux-fur in the middle of the floor.
