The End of an Era

For me at least, this past week marks the end of an era. Each and every year I have been at Wisconsin I've been a season-ticket holder; up until this year I have attended virtually every home game. I was there for the good - a 2003 upset win over defending national champion Ohio State - the bad - this year's drubbing at the hands of Penn State - and the record-breaking - like our 2003 win over Akron in which we had a 200-yd passer, a 200-yd receiver, and a 200-yd rusher.

This year has been a bit different from years past though, as we were unable to get season tickets for Janessa. As a result I ended up trading half of my tickets with someone in our Ward who was in the same predicament; this allowed both of us to attend games with our significant others instead of having to go alone. While it was really, really cold yesterday, it was still fun to be at the game; what made it even better was that I was able to go with Janessa. Although we started off slow, things picked up after halftime and we were able to hold on for a 35-32 win over our hated rival, the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Other than the football game, things have been pretty calm for Janessa and I this week. Janessa keeps on plugging away at work and I inch closer and closer to graduation. My scooter passed the 3500 mile mark, meaning that I've put more that 3000 miles on it over the last seven months. Surprisingly enough it still works - how long it continues to work, though, is anybody's guess...

Also, in case anyone was wondering, at the time of this post we only have 39 days, 16 hours, and 51 minutes until we get married. Not that we're keeping that close watch or anything...
