Updates on Life

Update on Operation Chunk the Monk:
I think we are succeeding, though that may just be my optimism. Carter is eating solids usually four times a day and getting a lot of milk. 2.5 weeks until the next weigh-in. Hope the kid makes weight (that wrestling lingo was for you Brett).

Update on Carter (besides his weight):
Carter is sitting up on his own now for about 30-45 seconds. Everyday we practice sitting up on the bed so that when he falls over he just bounces on the bed.
Carter is still shrieking some, but babbles a lot more. The other morning I was helping him sit on the bed and Brett was standing behind me and Carter looked at us and said, "Boo." It was clear as day, but I'm pretty sure it was a fluke. He does enjoy a good game of Peek-A-Boo.

Update on Brett:
Brett has his last week of class for the summer this week and then the final next week. I'm excited for him to be done. I'm excited that he will be around to help with the packing extravaganza. What packing extravaganza you ask? I don't remember if I announced this on the blog or not, but we are moving the Washington, DC for the fall semester. Brett is doing an internship program for his last semester of law school and taking two classes through the program. We are still looking for somewhere to live, but are looking forward to it. We are also looking forward to visiting our families for several weeks as pit stops in our journey across the country! We are not looking forward to having Carter in a car for 14 hours a day. Suggestions?

Update on Me:
I have eight days left of working before I am free. Words cannot express how happy I am to be done. The job has been good for me a super flexible post-Carter, but it is time for me to leave. The upper management is out of touch with the reality of day-to-day operations and it makes things super frustrating. Yeah for being jobless!

Brett and Carter play "Pants on the Head."
My boys are strange.
