1) My doctor said if I went into labor now she wouldn't do anything to stop me. Permission granted. Now to convince the little man inside of me that joining the real world be a good idea soon.
2) This is a very close second to #1. I am so proud of myself that I need to brag on my blog. I have been trying to use coupons for groceries for several months now. With Brett in law school and a baby on the way, I figure we need to start finding more ways to trim down the budget. Almost by accident I found out that a co-worker of mine is a super couponer with a goal of only spending $100 on groceries for the whole year. She had a blog where she would journal her shopping trips. So I started copying those trips as best I could and learned a lot along the way. My co-worker recently moved to California and stopped blogging. But I found another blog for Arizona stores that is even more intense. This woman is seriously amazing. With the help of her blog and some hard work and patience, I have seen my monthly grocery bill gradually decrease. Last night I had my most successful shopping trip ever. Fry's (the equivalent of Kroger or Smiths) was having great sales and I was determined to make the most of it. I spent time Saturday afternoon planning my trip and organizing my coupons and I was ready to go. After about 45 minutes in the store I was at the check-out line chatting with the cashier and guy behind me about kids, etc when I heard change come out of the change machine thing. Weird, then I notice that my total after coupons was -$1.18. I just stood there for a few seconds and then said, "That's never happened before." The cashier said she had seen it before and handed me a dollar and my receipt. I promptly walked out of the store still in a daze.
Here's a picture of my groceries:
