I came home from work and looked down at my ankles only to see that I have huge cankles! Not cool when I want to wear shorts later tonight in public. Brett helped me get all situated and I'm sitting comfy with four normal pillows, one body pillow, and two couch pillows. And two packages of frozen vegetables on my ankles. Ah the joys of pregnancy...
This week has been very eventful. Here are some highlights:
Brett is back in school, so I only get to see him after dinner if I hang out in the study and be quiet. However, football on Saturdays may give me a few hours of quality time with him. While Brett is studying I'm trying to be more productive with my time, so we'll see how well that works out...
My nemesis at work had his last day today! I think I just heard angels singing in the background. My excitement over his leaving was dampered by the layoff of one of my friends. We were going to get fat and pregnant together and now I'm the only one who will look ridiculous. So sad.
During my commute yesterday I saw my life flash before my eyes and witnessed what had to be a miracle. I was driving on the freeway and was coming up on a truck with a trailer. I started slowing down because he was not going quite my desired speed. Then I started slowing down more because he was going really slow. Then I slammed on the breaks when I realized he wasn't moving at all! My car stopped maybe two feet from the back of the trailer. Luckily no one was close behind me or there would have been a disaster. Something had fallen off the front of the truck that looked like a metal barrier the police use for crowd control, so the truck had stopped to get it of the road or it would have caused major problems. However, the trailer taillights didn't work, so while they were slowing down I had no idea they were breaking until it was almost too late. I have no idea how I managed to stop in time and I know it wasn't my sweet driving skills. There is no way this pregnant brain could have realized quickly enough that the truck was stopping in the middle of the freeway. I said lots of thankful prayers on the rest of my commute to work.
I had a steller week for baby stuff. I got 264 diapers on amazon shipped to my door for a grand total of $3.58. I love getting sweet deals like that, and I love the bloggers who help me find them. I also got a package today in the mail from my sister-in-law. She was so sweet and sent some baby clothes for Carter. And it made me realize that she is currently his only aunt. What kid grows up with only one aunt and seven hundred uncles?? No one! These boys need to kick it into high gear. Anyway, she sent a little swimming suit which will be perfect for next summer and several other cute things.
Football! College football started this week and I'm super excited. Now if I could only get the games on TV instead of listening to the radio... Next year... Go Cougs!
Below are some pictures from the last few weeks. My baby has decided he wants to be huge and we both agree there is currently not enough room for him. I remember weeks ago when I would push my belly out to try and look pregnant. What was I thinking?
