Work?!?!? What's work?!?!?

If the blog entry starts out wondering about the concept of "work," you know it has to come from me (Brett) & not Janessa (hard-working woman that she is). That's right folks, tomorrow my week-long vacation is over and I start my first of two jobs this summer.  When I mean jobs you probably think I'm getting paid, but sadly that is not the case.  No, Janessa and I are the ones doing the paying (almost $8,300 worth) for this and the other job I'll have this summer.  Don't get too down about the whole set-up though - it's not completely slave labor.  In exchange for taking more than $8000 out of our pockets, ASU's Law School is giving me 6 academic credits.  You see, the hope is that by getting 6 credits this summer and next summer that I'll be able to graduate early.  I'll also have to average about 15 credits a semester the rest of the way out, but the goal is to be done with law school in December of 2011, instead of 2012.  Stay tuned to see how that whole plan works out....

This last week was nice for me. A lot of laying around, relaxing, and general decompressing from the gauntlet that was my first year of law school.  No word on grades yet - those won't be in for another month at least.  As nice as this last week was, however, it will be nice to get to work and actually be productive during the day.  What exactly I'll be doing for the Office of Government Relations though, no one knows...

J's doing well too.  I think the biggest thing for her right now is her getting excited for a couple of her college friends to come down and visit the first weekend in July.  She hasn't seen them in a while, so it'll be good for her to hang out with some old girlfriends.  I think I'm pretty fun to be around, but it'll be a different kind of fun when they come down.

Until next time...
