This last week marked a major milestone in George Family History - not only did I turn the big 2-5, I finally finished my first year of law school! I'm not sure how "successfully" I completed it, but I did complete it. It's a little weird now not having anything to do, but it's nice.
I won't be lazy for long, however, as I'll be starting work in a little more than a week as an extern (meaning I pay to work, but also get school credits) for the City of Phoenix Office of Government Relations. It's essentially Phoenix's lobbying arm, so that should be interesting. I still have no idea what I want to do after I finish law school, so this should help narrow things down a bit. Plus, with all the crazy stuff that's been going on with Arizona politics lately, it seems as though I'm stepping into this position at just the right time...
My birthday this last week was a lot of fun. As I do every year, I had a final to take that day, but it was fine because it was my last one and was in a subject I felt pretty good about. After taking my test, I went home and relaxed a bit before Janessa got off work. It was nice just to be able to lay around. Janessa came home, then we went out to eat at Chili's using a gift card I earned at school. One of the nice things about law school (besides all of the cool stuff we get to learn) is that the legal research databases have rewards programs, so you can earn free stuff based on how much you use them. They're just trying to get you hooked for when you get out of law school and have to pay, but it's nice while it lasts.
As far as Janessa goes, it's just been work, work, work. Oh, we also just yesterday bought plane tickets to Utah for late June - one of Janessa's cousins is getting married, so we decided to grace everyone out there with our presence. It'll be tough not to let our good-looks steal the show while we're there, but we'll see what we can do.
