The Cold Makes Me Do Crazy Things

Just in case you don't live in the Midwest or haven't been watching the Weather Channel, let me fill you in. It is cold. Very cold. Very super cold. I'm talking -17 degrees at 8:00 am(and this is without factoring in the windchill). It is so cold that in nearby Minnesota a man hammered nails into a board using a banana he left outside overnight. Note to self, no need to buy a hammer, just buy a banana.

Now that I have established it is cold, it may help explain some of my recent behavior. Around November I realized that I couldn't leave the house without completely drying my hair. This meant that every morning I had to blow dry my massive mane instead of quickly pulling it back into a bun and running out the door. I had to dry my hair because if I didn't I would freeze outside, and I would also freeze inside while I was at work. I hate being cold, so I opted to blow dry my hair every day. Well, after two days I got tired of blow drying my hair; my attention span couldn't take it. But it was November and I was getting married in a month. No one in her right mind cuts off her pretty long hair right before she get married, so I waited.

And I waited. And I spent thirty minutes a day blow drying my hair or eight hours freezing at work. And then I got married.

I have found that being married has lots of perks...the gifts, the tax break, the slave...and the new haircut. Here are two pictures Brett took before my camera battery died.

Here's to freedom and the ability to spend ten more minutes in bed!
