For reals. I didn't like it. My legs have been shaky for the past three hours, even though the earthquake lasted only about 30 seconds. I was sitting on the floor with Carter when I felt this shaking. I immediately began cursing the people upstairs, then thought maybe I should be cursing construction people outside, then figured I should actually grab Carter and move to a sturdy doorway. We stood in a doorway for a few seconds and then everything was still again, except my heartbeat and my knees. Carter, luckily, had no idea anything strange was going on. I still feel like my apartment is swaying, though it really is not. The only damage was a comb and bottle that fell from a shelf in the bathroom.
Conclusion: earthquakes = freakin' scary even if they only last 30 seconds with no damage.
PS, we finally got internet today, 30 minutes before said earthquake. Yeah for being online again. I will post more later about the move.
