I guess that's a pretty good way to summarize this last week. Janessa and I are both over our previous-weeks' ailments, the job search has continued (albeit unsuccessfully), and we're continuing to get more acclimated to our new ward. Things are going pretty well for us you could say.
Today at church was a milestone for us in a couple of different aspects. Not only did we give our first talks in the ward, we also officially received our new callings. Janessa is the new Ward Chorister/RS Music Director, and I am the new 12-13yr. old Sunday School Teacher. While Janessa had to conduct the music in Sacrament Meeting today, next week will be my first time teaching the kids. Hopefully it will go well - I've heard the boys in the class can be a little crazy...As for our talks, they were both on repentance. While we did well, I think it was a little weird for both of us to be standing up in front of a family ward. Still, they went well, we got them done, and people complimented us on them.
This week was also good because we got the first letter back from a law school. The "Safety Net" in the title refers to this fact, as I have been offered admission to the St. Louis University 2009 class. It's not an AMAZING school by any means, but it is still a Tier 1. If nothing else, the safety net is in place so we at least know we'll be someplace for law school come the fall. Stay tuned for more updates as the list becomes more concrete...
As far as my job search goes, it is continuing on the same as the last few weeks - lots of resumes sent out, few interviews, and even fewer responses. I've sent out my info to a couple of temp agencies, so hopefully something will be coming through in the near future. All of you who have jobs out there - be grateful!!!

CONGRATS, Brett! Glad you heard from at least one school. I'm sure that many more acceptance letters will be coming your way. WAY TO GO!
